Taking the plunge

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -Members of the 459th Air Refueling Wing took the ultimate plunge Jan 24. in the Chesapeake Bay at Sandy Point Park to raise money for Special Olympics Maryland. Tech. Sgt. Warren Hiller of the 459th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron served as the team captain and recruited the vice wing commander, command chief, and maintenance group commander as well as friends and colleagues from the wing to sign up for the annual Polar Plunge event. 113th Wing servicemember-employers, climb aboard 459th Air Refueling Wing KC-135 stratotankers to view an air refueling of F-16 fighter jets Jan. 23. ESGR incentive flights are to help promote understanding and support between employers and their national guard and reserve member employees.

69th Aerial Port Squadron participates in Wreaths Across America

Members of the 69th Aerial Port Squadron and their families gathered at Arlington National Cemetery Dec. 13 to take part in 17th annual "Wreaths Across America" ceremony. Across the United States, ceremonies took place in more than 200 other national and state veterans' cemeteries remembering, honoring and teaching about the service and sacrifices of the nations fallen heroes.

WASPS share their story at new exhibit

Helen Wyatt Snapp tells the more than 100 visitors gathered at the Women in Military Service for America memorial for the unveiling of the Woman Air Force Service Pilot exhibit that she, "Loved every minute," of being a WASP. Snapp graduated from the fourth WASP class of 1943, and was subsequently assigned to the New Castle Army Air Base, De and Camp Davis Army Air Field, NC. The WASP exhibit at the WIMSA memorial is the first of its kind in the country and will be on display through Nov. 2009.
