Tech. Sgt. Mark Simmons, a U.S. Air Force Reserve boom operator assigned to the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, makes adjustments in the boom pod as he prepares to refuel aircraft in the high north during Arctic Challenge Exercise 2021, June 14. ACE 21 is a joint, multinational exercise taking place in Sweden, Finland and Norway, with two main waves of daily air operations consisting of large-scale air operations including air-to-air and air-to-ground training, low level flying, air-to-air refueling and live firing.
