JBA sparks innovation for COVID-19 facemasks
Maj. Vincent Giacomino, 11th Wing SparkX Cell chief innovation officer, scans the face of Col. Andrew Purath, 11th Wing and Joint Base Andrews commander, for a 3D model at the SparkX Cell Innovation and Idea Center on JBA, Md., Apr. 8, 2020. Purath’s face was 3D modeled for a custom fit mask, which was printed the next day to show 3D facemask printing capability. All individuals on Department of Defense property, installations and facilities must wear face coverings when they cannot maintain six feet of social distancing.
