Little engine
ANDREWS AIR FORCE BASE, Md. -- Capt. Susanne Schulz, 113th Airlift Wing Pilot for a Day (P4D) coordinator, exchanges smiles in the engine of a KC-135 Stratotanker with 8-year-old Sam Gates, who was diagnosed with leukemia last year. Members of the 459th Air Refueling Wing joined forces with the National Guard's 113th AW to host P4D. The program allows children with serious diseases to visit the wing and tour aircraft, the fire station, watch military working dogs and mingle with pilots and aircrew. The 459th ARW is a Reserve component of the U.S. Air Force. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Amaani Lyle)
