In honor and dignity
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Members of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard from Bolling Air Force Base, D.C., synchronize their rifles during the Air Force Combat Action Medal ceremony June 12. General Moseley presented six Airmen with the medal at the Air Force Memorial. The Airmen were the first in history to receive the new medal, created to recognize Air Force members who were engaged in air or ground combat "outside the wire." Among the recipients was Master Sgt. Charlie Peterson, a Reservist with the 927th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mich. Tom Galpin, grandson of World War I veteran Brig. Gen.
