Takeoff Tuesday for August 2, 2022

The wing's newest recruits, Colin Bowser of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kenneth Rosenkranz of Washington, D.C., head off for basic military training. Upon completion of BMT, Bowser will begin his military career in the 459th Aerospace Medicine Squadron and Rosenkranz will start in the 459th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron! About 30 Aviation Career Education Academy students visited the wing on July 12, 2022, to get a close look at the 459th Air Refueling Wing's KC-135 Stratotanker Aircraft. This aircraft tour is part of the students aviation education. The ACE Academy is a Federal Aviation Administration program that provides unique summer aviation education programs for elementary, middle and high school students interested in aviation and aerospace. The program provides students with a wide range of aviation career exploration experiences and also focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Kudos to Ops and Maintenance for providing another great tour!
