Team Andrews,

In keeping with our annual tradition of celebrating and commemorating Earth
Day, please come out and support the activities and events planned for next
week, 22-26 April 2013. Joint Base Andrews will be hosting various
base-wide events to commemorate Earth Day that will serve to improve the
base on which we work, live, and play.

Tuesday, 23 April

Starting on Tuesday morning there will be a base clean-up event that will
kick off at Yuma Park at 0900 and run for the morning. Volunteers should be
prepared to don gloves and get dirty cleaning up
selected wooded areas around Joint Base Andrews. This will be followed by a
picnic for all event volunteers in the afternoon, so please come out and
join us.

Wednesday, 24 April

Joint Base Andrews will be hosting an energy awareness and general
environmental education/outreach event at the Main BX from 1000 to 1400.
Please come out and learn all about the issues, discuss the programs here at
Andrews, and pick up some great giveaways and informational items.

Thursday, 25 April

Joint Base Andrews will be conducting a household hazardous waste turn-in
event coupled with a document shredding event from 0900 to 1400 in the
parking lot of the Home Traditions store. All residents and base personnel
are welcome to bring small household hazardous waste items for disposal, and
they will be accepted by the hazardous waste program staff and disposed of
properly. Also, if you have documents requiring shredding, a shredding
truck from a document destruction company will be present and prepared to
accept any and all documents for shredding on the spot.

Your assistance and participation in these events is requested.
Participation by 11th Wing personnel in these events should be considered an
alternate duty location.
