The 11th Civil Engineer Squadron will initiate an installation-wide "No Heat/No Cool" period to switch heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units from heating to cooling modes from April 15 to May 15, or later weather permitting.

During this "No Heat/No Cool" period, HVAC technicians will complete all equipment servicing and startup preparations. Based on last year's data, Team Andrews was able to conserve 307,000 Kilowatt hours throughout the period for a savings of $27,630 in electric cost and 2500 MBTU's in natural gas cost for an additional $17,650 for a combined total $45,280 in savings that can potentially be re-invested into base operations.

During the downtime, only Mission Critical Facilities, Command and Control Facilities, Child Development Centers, Critical Server Rooms, Critical Utilities and Housing will be exempt.

Patience and understanding from base residents while this is being accomplished will be greatly appreciated. Please Contact 11th CES Customer Service at 301-981-5151 with any questions.
