More than 150 reservists from the 459th Air Refueling Wing packed the headquarters auditorium for the unit's Annual Prayer Breakfast April 3.

The breakfast was organized by the 459th ARW Chapel Team, led by Maj. Joshua Kim, 459th ARW head chaplain. The event's goal was to help Airmen and their families focus on the spiritual side of their fitness and to encourage spiritual faith.

"I thought the event was a success because I heard so many people make comments about how it encouraged them in their walk of faith," Kim said.

The event began with a benediction from Brig. Gen. Steven Schaick, U.S. Air Force deputy chief of chaplains. Schaick called upon the members of the 459th ARW to be the light in the world and good leaders in our society.

Kedric Golston, a professional football player for the Washington Redskins, was the guest speaker for the breakfast. He was a 6th round pick for the Redskins in the 2006 NFL draft, and is the longest tenured current Redskins player after nine years with the team.

Golston offered advice to attendees while talking about his faith.

"I don't know where you are in your spiritual journey or your walk, but I think if we all wanted to be honest, we're at different places and that's OK," he said. "Because, no matter where we're at, God is always the same and never changing and that's the confidence that we can have in him."

In his closing remarks, Schaick thanked Golston for his uplifting words.

"Thank you Kedric, You have inspired us all," he said. "You've reminded us that no matter where we are in life, and what type of games we may be playing, there is hope."
