459 AMXS holds change of command ceremony

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. --  The 459th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron held a change of command ceremony at Hangar 11 here, July 13.

Maj. Cynthia Vernier assumed command of the 459 AMXS which was previously held by Lt. Col. Kirsten Palmer.

"I feel extremely blessed that I get to do what I love, not very many people can say that truthfully but I can," Vernier said during the ceremony. "I look forward to command and serving with each of you."

Vernier was previously the 44th Maintenance Squadron commander, Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., before arriving at the 459 AMXS as a maintenance officer in April of 2013.

Palmer is now assigned as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Installation and Mission Support at the Pentagon.
