Say hello to the 459th Air Refueling Wing's newest Airman, Capt. Lisa Mason. Mason was recently assigned to the 459th ARW as a protocol officer.

Prior to joining the 459th ARW, Mason transferred from Grissom Air Reserve Base, 434th Aeromedical Squadron Medical Group as a medical services officer. She was also a member of the Air National Guard as a military personnel technician.

"I started working military protocol as an additional duty in the Air National Guard," said Mason. "I enjoyed it so much that I would volunteer to assist with all unit ceremonies and large National Capital Region, NCR, events."

As the Newly Assigned Protocol Officer to the 459th ARW Mason will provide support to Lt. Gen. James Jackson, Chief of Air Force Reserve and commander of Air Force Reserve Command, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. and the 459th Air Refueling Wing.

"My goals are to provide the best customer service and to take every step to ensure the proper customs and courtesies are implemented at every distinguished event on Joint Base Andrews and in the NCR," she said.

In Mason's spare time, she helps plan large family events. The die-hard Redskin Fan said she was destined to do Protocol.

"I am so happy to be on board," exclaimed Mason.
