The spotlight is on Airman Andrew Butler, the newest member of the 459th Air Refueling Wing.
Born and raised in Washington D.C., this 24-year old said he joined the Air Force for career opportunities.

He was working at Auto Zone before deciding to enlist, he said.

"I joined because I wanted to do better than I was doing before," Butler stated. "Auto Zone wasn't making the cut."

Joining the Reserve has opened the door to Butler's new career at the 459th Maintenance Squadron. Additionally, he said he is glad his position as a hydraulic specialist makes him an asset to the wing.

"My career is very important for all the aircraft," Butler stated. "Hydraulics is the basis for anything you want to make an aircraft do. If you want it to make it fly up, down, right or left you have to have hydraulics."

Butler has attended college in New York. His new Air Force life will bring him educational opportunities as well.
