October new member snapshot

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. --  Staff Sergeant John Lafontant is the 459th Air Refueling Wing's new snapshot member of the month for October.

The New Jersey native is now part of the 459th Logistics Readiness Squadron working in vehicle maintenance. 

"I want to fulfill everyday activities," said Lafontant.  "I think so many people overlook the things in life we need to do to keep going."

"If a car breaks down, does that person know what is wrong with it? Do they know how to change the oil?"  Lafontant hypothetically asked. 

According to Lafontant, he can't wait to get a tech school date so I can learn all about vehicle maintenance.

He previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps - earning the rank of Sergeant, but is now invested into the Air Force Reserve.

"I love the camaraderie, I love the passion, and I'll be here till they kick me out," Lafontant said.

His hobbies include helping others stay fit as a personal trainer, music, and video productions and photography.

The 459th Air Refueling Wing welcomes its newest member.
