December new member snapshot

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. --  This month's New Member Snapshot is on Airman 1st Class Kristin Kurtz. She hails from Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina to the 459th Air Refueling Wing public affairs office as an apprentice.     

"I'm excited to come to Andrews," Kurtz said. "It's such an active base where I can be involved in covering a variety of events; especially those near the flight line."

The Chapel Hill, North Carolina native is pursuing her Community College of the Air Force degree, as well as completing her Bachelor's degree in business administration.

Her educational and long-term goals go hand-in-hand with her family life, she said.
Ultimately, she said her goal is to open a center in Durham, North Carolina for at-risk youth. 

"I am the oldest of six siblings," she said. "We love spending time together doing outdoor activities or do-it-yourself projects."
