JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. -- Col. William Gitchell assumed command of the 459th Aeromedical Staging Squadron on Sep. 7, 2025, at the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Md., during the Squadron's assumption of command ceremony. Col. Michael Masuda, 459th Air Refueling Wing Commander, was the presiding official. Prior to Col. Gitchell's appointment to the 459th ASTS, he was the Commander of the 943rd Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Ariz.
