Col. Corey Reed takes command of 459th ARW

Col. Corey Reed took command of the 459th Air Refueling Wing during his assumption of command ceremony held at the base theater, here. As the commander, Col. Reed will support and direct more than 1,200 military and civilian personnel in 20 units and have control of eight KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft. Prior to coming to the wing and serving briefly as the wing's deputy commander, Col. Reed served as the deputy commander of the 452nd Air Mobility Wing, March Air Reserve Base, Calif. He received his commission in 2000 from the New Mexico State University ROTC program. After completing Undergraduate Pilot Training, he served flying tours in the C-17A and has been an aircraft commander, instructor pilot, and flight examiner. He is now a command pilot with more than 4,500 flying hours, including more than 950 combat hours.
