What do you pull out of your pocket when someone coin checks you? If it is the current 459th Air Refueling Wing coin, then you'll soon enough have to leave that on a rack, because the current coin is up for a redesign.

According to Lt. Col. Michael E. Laughton, 459th ARW executive officer, our wing commander, Col. Tim Cahoon, wants a new design, and he wants it to come from the mind of one of our Airmen. The rules of engagement for this contest are:

· Anyone can submit a design
· There is no required format for submission. You can submit a drawing, graphic file, or something scribbled on a cocktail napkin, as long as the concept and colors (if applicable) are clearly understood
· The coin can be any shape or size currently available on the market. If other than a traditional round shape, please provide a suggested manufacturing source for the coin
· No profanity, or vulgarities
· Submissions must be turned in to Colonel Laughton by Oct. 15. Submissions can be delivered in person, or emailed to Michael.laughton1@afncr.af.mil.

Colonel Laughton hasn't yet determined what the prize will be for the contest winner.
"We're just looking for new ideas and to see what the troops can come up with. We're looking for originality, something respectable, something that honors (the wing), as well as highlights us," Colonel Laughton said.
