459th Air Refueling Wing Airmen now have an easier way to find Customer Service locations whether they are on the road, or at home.

The Defense Manpower Data Center recently released an updated online system that allows users to search for RAPIDS sites near their current location or after entering a specific address.

The system, called the RAPIDS Site Locator (RSL), utilizes Google Maps technology to pinpoint Customer Service offices. RAPIDS, or the Real-Time Automated Identification System, is an interface military personnel specialists use to accessDEERS and other networked programs capable of accessing sponsor information. The RSL will list nearby offices that can both access RAPIDS and produce ID or Common Access Cards.

Although most Reserve Airmen can update their addresses and contact information using Virtual MPF, visiting a site that can access RAPIDS will allow Airmen to update more important information that cannot be done at home. By using the RSL, individuals no longer have to visit numerous base websites to track down Customer Service offices close to them. So when it comes time to update family members in the system or obtain a new ID card, Airmen can use the RSL to save time.

In the future Airmen will be able to use RSL to make appointments with a Customer Service office. In the meantime, the system is not only just capable of providing RAPIDS site locations, but it can also give driving directions.
