459th Airmen and Family Readiness are hosting an on-going Food Pantry program where wing personnel can donate non-perishable food items for Reserve members whom need assistance.

Donations can be dropped off at any of the squadrons or wing headquarters, Bldg. 3755 and everyone is encouraged to participate.

"This program is open to everyone," said Master Sgt. Charlene Lowe, chief of A&FR. "If you're an Airman or even a full-bird colonel, and are in need of support, this program will help you."

Food Pantry is the first campaign of its kind for the 459th and due to the limited resources available for service members during their Unit Training Assembly's, A&FR created the program to help with struggling families during this rough time in the economy.

"We did this to help off-set the recession," said Tech. Sgt. Paul Gouge, NCO in charge, A&FR. "We offer these programs for those who have financial difficulty and provide another means of assistance for those who serve our country."

The official start to the program will begin April 14 during the UTA; however, donations are being accepted now.

For more information, contact A&FR, (240) 857-7058. Please note all assistance given is 100 percent confidential.
