Colonel PATRICIA B. HARTMAN

Col. Patricia B. Hartman is the Commander, 459th Mission Support Group, Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. She is responsible for supporting the mission of the 459th Air Refueling Wing through a variety of functions, including infrastructure, sustainment, logistics, aerial port, force support, security, and emergency management. 
 
Col. Hartman entered the Air Force in April 2006 through a direct commissioning program, The Academy of Military Science, McGee Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee, leading to a career spanning nearly two decades of dedicated service with an extensive background at the tactical, operational and strategic level within the Department of Defense. She has held a variety of civil engineer positions as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee and a traditional reservist within Headquarters Air Force, Numbered Air Force, and at the Squadron and Group level. During that time she has deployed under Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM.
 
Prior to her current position, Col. Hartman was the deputy commander of the 911th Mission Support Group at Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station in Pennsylvania. In this capacity she led 476 Airmen in Force Support, Aerial Port, Logistic Readiness, Security Forces, Civil Engineer, and Communication Squadrons. While serving as the 446th Civil Engineer Squadron Commander at Joint Base Lewis McChord, she led 110 Airmen in Fire, Emergency Management, and Construction Operations. Additionally as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Operations Program Manager, HAF A4CF, the Pentagon, she served as the Civil Engineer directorates Deputy Division Chief, A4CF, providing policy guidance, technical advice, and staff oversight on HAF/OSD/Congressional functional inquiries involving the SAF, Air Staff, DoD offices, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center, Air Force Civil Engineer Center, and MAJCOM civil engineer. 
 
In her Government Service Civilian capacity, she was a project engineer for an executive branch department of the federal government. She was previously a Directorate of Public Works Planning Branch Chief and Acting Master Planning Division Chief at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington. Additionally, at a defense and combat support agency, she was the Engineering Functional Group Lead providing Department of Defense assessments, oversight and guidance on all engineers (Air Force, Navy, Army, General Schedule Civilians, and contractors), performing Joint Mission Assurance Assessments.
