Chief Master Sgt. Anthony E. Leavitt is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 459th Air Refueling Wing, Joint Base Andrews, Mayland. He is the primary advisor to the commander and staff on matters related to the morale, welfare, discipline, professional development, and utilization of nearly 1,300 enlisted personnel. The 459th Air Refueling Wing’s mission is to provide unsurpassed air refueling, aeromedical operations, and agile combat support from our nation’s capital to the world.
Chief Leavitt is a native of Coon Rapids, Minn. He entered the United States Air Force in February 1998 and graduated Ground Radio Maintenance technical school in December 1998. He separated in late 2004 after completing a total of six and a half years of active-duty enlistment. In 2009, Sergeant Leavitt re-entered the Air Force by joining the Reserve to perform in various roles within the medical, staff, support, and maintenance communities. Prior to his current position, he was the 934th Maintenance Group Senior Enlisted Leader.
Chief Leavitt served two tours as a combat radio maintainer in support of Operations JOINT FORGE and IRAQI FREEDOM. The first operation was a peace keeping mission based out of Tuzla Air Base, Bosnia-Herzegovina. The latter operation was served while assigned under the Air Force Special Operations Command at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, United Kingdom.
