Members from the 59th Medical Wing from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas set up the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation to aide in the care of a military dependent 6-week-old infant. The machine helps to support a patient’s or lungs which are too damaged to function on their own and weighs 800 pounds.
