The 459th Air Refueling Wing Services Flight is sponsoring a coat drive from now to early December where servicemembers can drop off new or used coats in the yellow chest in the entry way of the services building 3743, to help men, women and children in need.

Coats donated at the 459 ARW will be given to So Others Might Eat, a local charity located at 71 O Street  NW in Washington D.C and will be distributed from 0700-0900, Dec. 14.

"I helped start this program about six years ago and have been doing this annually from October to December because I like helping people out," said Master Sgt. Timothy Boykin, 459th ARW Services Flight.

Last year, Tech. Sgt. Shativia Fuller and Senior Airman Cherell Gerald-Lonon, both of the 459th Services Flight, took part in donating as well as helping distribute coats, clothing and food to families in need, he said.

People can make a difference in the lives of others by sharing time, effort and belongings. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities or have any questions, please contact Master Sgt. Boykin at 240-857-2775.
